Ayush Ayurvedic Products from Hindustan Unilever Ltd

It goes without saying that "Prevention is Always Better than Cure". When a person is sick, it is a drain not only on the finances of the household but also prevents the concerned person from enjoying all the good things in life. Our ancient system of Ayurveda coupled with the largest FMCG company in India, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, have come up with great solutions to many health problems. Anti-aging, Diabetes, Joint pains, Hair care, Special supplements for children and so on are some of the areas handled.

Health conscious people are welcome to open a discussion on the subject.

Hi, have you received any sponsorship to write about Auyurveda, that is practiced by the largest FMCG company in India, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.? Othrwise why this sudden interest in Uniliver? We have hordes of ayurvedic practioners, who unable to adhere to the strict norms of ayurveda, mix cortico steroids with their herbal medicines, which promises the moon to the poor victims. Initially there is some relief, but after some time one becomes an addict. Then after three years, when the effect of the medicine wears off, the patient is back to square one. Dabur, Baidyanath, Charak, Himalaya are a few of the known companies who spend a lot of money on research, and give authentic ayurvedic medicines. This list does not include those units from Kerala, the home of Ayurveda.

Does Uniliver know what or who are the AshtaVaidyans or the famous Manas whose karnavours are adept at prescribing genuine Ayurvedic Medicines for the prompt relief of human ailments?

Very near to my residence at Anna Nagar, Chennai, we have one Ayush clinic, where the preferred treatment for bodily ailments seem to be an OIL Massage, or is it a Message I do not know. I have not visited them and neither do I intend to visit them.

My requirements of Ayurvedic Medicines are taken care of by the Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, or the Arya Vaidya Pharmacy, Coimbatore, or the House of Thycaud Moses, a few of the many renowned Ayurvedic houses, who have been practicising ayurveda for generations in Kerala and its neighbouring States.

Regards.
Rajaputhran.

Thank you for taking time to read my message and to give a reply.

Wish to highlight some of the facts and salient features of our efforts:

1) Some of the products marketed by us are manufactured by Arya Vaidya Pharmacy, Kanjikode-678621,Palakkad Dist. The remaining have been endorsed by the same company. This is a very highly reputed organisation functioning for a very, very long time with a high level of distinction. Are you referring to the same company?
2) Not all AVP products are marketed by us. Out of their vast range, Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUN) is marketing only 18 numbers at present. Other products are not handled by us.
3) We do not sell our products through shops. It is either marketed through Trained Consultants or Ayush Therapy Centres. I am a trained consultant in Hindustan Unilever Network, a division of HUN. Though HUN spends crores in ads, these products are not advertised. People like us talk to people directly and if the concerned person feels interested we supply directly from the company. There is neither any compulsion nor any comparison.
4)Ayush products marketed by us are certified with all the necessary approvals obtained from the concerned authorities.
5)We accept the fact that there are many renowned Ayurvedic houses in the country practicing for generations in Kerala and other states. We have the highest regard and respect for these great vaidyas who have made us feel so proud of our country. (incidentally my late mother was practicing Ayurveda in the 50s upto late 80s).
6) In my first message I have only mentioned that "Prevention is Better than Cure" and invited health conscious people for a discussion. I am sure you will agree that becoming sick not only reduces happiness but also very expensive nowadays. Our focus is on "VARUMUN KAPPOM". When a person needs medical attention there are any number of good Doctors and excellent systems of medicines.
7) I will only be delighted to meet and exchange views with you. I am in TNagar.

With Best wishes,

Subhash Koppikar

Subhash:

Personally I feel that all these MNCs enter the Ayurvdic field because it gets them some tax concessions. There are a plethora of OTC Medical Products, including a tooth paste of which 90% is chalk powder, and a small percentage of some herbs like neem, cloves and certified by some organizations owned by the Government of India as an ayurvedic product. Knowing only too well, how these Government bodies work, the less said about the certificates the better. It is not even worth the paper on which it is printed. You say Ayush does not advertise their products. Even in today's Hindu they have brought out an advertisement about their services, which is based on Ayurveda. It is unnecesary to switch off the electric light and then invite darkness. Unannounced, once the light is switched off, darkness engulfs.

Before you embark on a meaningful discussion, with me please be armed with facts and figures. You are working for HUL. I am a patron of HUL which employees people like you and pay your salary from the money that they earn from us their patrons.

I do not find anything amiss in your contentions. It is the duty and responsibility of a dog, to bark at the command of its Master. Ultimately HUL is your Annadata. And I as a patron, AM the Annadata of HUL.
